Gary Liguori, PhD, is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and past Chair of the ACSM Health Fitness Specialist sub-committee. Gary has been on Health/Exercise Science faculty at the University of Wyoming, Youngstown State University, North Dakota State University, and is currently the Head of Health and Human Performance at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Over the past 20 years, Gary has received numerous peer and student-driven awards for both his teaching and advising.
Gary has long advocated for wellness as part of the college curriculum, successfully lobbying for it on many past occasions. In addition, Gary’s research reflects a strong interest in wellness, with numerous publications in a wide range of peer-reviewed journals. Gary is also a successful author of a Fitness and Wellness text along with being Senior Editor of a first edition ACSM text.Gary has participated in an international teaching exchange in The Netherlands and also presented his work in Asia, Europe, and Australia. Gary also serves as a reviewer for numerous academic journals and annual meetings.
