Jared Russell, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Auburn University. He is also serves as the College of Education Coordinator of Graduate Student Diversity and Physical Activity & Wellness Program (PAWP) Graduate Teaching Assistant Coordinator. Dr. Russell received his Doctorate of Philosophy and Master’s of Arts degrees in Physical Education and Sport Studies from The University of Georgia, Athens, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education from Morehouse College.
Dr. Russell’s research program is focused on identifying variables that impact the instructional socialization and effectiveness of graduate teaching assistants as college-level teachers and future members of the professoriate. Additionally, his extended research agenda includes the preparation of pre-service teachers for diverse instructional settings and their conceptualization of relevant socio-cultural concepts.
